Heavy Brass Jazzmaster/Jaguar Hardtail Plate
I made this as a test piece because I had a little bit of capacity on a previous plate order. It's the same shape as my normal hardtail plate but is made from 1/8" (3mm) thick brass, so quite a bit heavier. For comparison, my stainless steel version weighs 4 ounces while this brass version weighs 7 ounces.
This plate is great for those of you that don't use the vibrato on your Jazzmaster or Jaguar. The strings anchor into "keyhole" notches, and the slightly lower string placement should offer a bit more sustain.
The notches are all 1/16" wide, so they'll fit up to .062" gauge strings.
The holes are all countersunk, so that flat head or oval head mounting screws can be used.
Works on both right handed and left handed guitars, with your choice of 4 finish options.
As it is brass the finish will age over time as it oxidizes. You can clear coat it to try to prevent it from happening, or just go with it and let it develop a nice patina.
The plate as pictured is the raw finish, straight from the laser cutter other than the countersunk holes.
