Jazzmaster Guitar Routing Templates

  • $60.00

The original offset waist guitar, it debuted in 1958. Featuring wide and shallow pickups, a new floating vibrato, and an alternate rhythm circuit, it was unlike anything that had came out from Fender before. Originally intended for jazz musicians, it instead caught on with surf guitarists and eventually indie, alternative, and punk bands.

This template set includes a main body template, neck pocket template, and a pickguard template.

The body and neck pocket templates include registration holes along the center line. If you use screws to hold the templates to the wood you’re routing, the holes will help keep everything lined up between templates. They are located so that the holes will be hidden under the pickguard.

Recommended dimensions and routing depths are:

  • Body Thickness: 1 5/8"
  • Neck Pocket Depth: 5/8"
  • Pickup Cavity Depth: 3/8"
  • Rhythm Cavity Depth: 1"
  • Lead Cavity Depth: 1 3/8"
  • Vibrato Cavity Depth: 1 3/8"
  • Bridge Thimble Hole Depths: 1 3/16"
  • Roundover Radius: 7/16"

Needing a matching hardtail plate to go with the templates? I have them here.

I also carry the matching neck template as part of a set, for those wanting to build their own neck.
